A Bit of Catching Up

You know I have dabbled in all kinds of home businesses over the years, but I have to say that Young Living has stolen my heart.

We’ve had a couple of busy months and thought I’d share a bit of it.

Mary and I attended two different events for Young Living. One in Alabama and one in Florida.

I love a fun roadtrip! I love to drive. It’s calming for me pretty much anywhere except locally. There’s something about driving down roads I haven’t been down before that I just love.

I wanted to be a truck driver. I know, right? I still love seeing a bunch of semis rolling down the road.

Another story for another day.

Anyway.

Our first trip in June was to Birmingham, Alabama to the Young Living group of Monique McClean.

We had a great drive! Hit some rain, but got through it unscathed. We stopped just this side of Atlanta for lunch and to stretch our legs.

And shop a bit. Just a little.

Found the hotel, got checked in and settled in, then explored a little. It’s always fun finding new malls. Mary is always astounded by how big they are!

The meet up was Saturday morning and that morning something just went horribly wrong. My nerves took over, displaying a ridiculous amount of taunting to my brain and I didn’t even know it was happening. One thing after another, tiny things that shouldn’t have happened did, but I pulled myself together as best I could (with Mary pulling hard, too, thank goodness) and we went to this thing, with Ningxia Red dripping down my shirt.

I’d never been to something like this and I did not know what to expect, but when we walked in it was like I was back in high-school staring out into the lights of the theater where the whole school was waiting for my performance. (Really, self? Why was I so nervous?) But because I didn’t really know what was going on with my head, I just pushed it to the side and continued on the best way I knew how. Slap a smile on your face and avoid eye contact.

We sat and listened to Monique in this room full of people and then milled around the tables of all the Young Living product, took pictures, browsed and then left.

I was a mess. I don’t know. It’s done. I’m over it. Maybe.

The drive home was nice and we stopped at The Cheesecake Factory before we left.

The second event was in July in Venice, Florida. I was really excited to go there! Another long drive. We set out before dawn. It took a while before we found roads we hadn’t travelled down, but it was a good drive, nonetheless.

In the back of my head I worried about whether or not I would have an anxious party again, but I had a better feeling about this trip.

I’ve known Denita via scrapbooking and Facebook for years, but we had never spent any time together and I was looking forward to meeting face to face.

There are just some things that make everything okay. Meeting Denita and JD was like meeting up with old friends you hadn’t seen in a while. They’re just two fabulous people. I experienced no anxious frenzies.

The two of them worked tirelessly, along with their local Oil Junkie’s Team, to pull off an incredible event that I am SO glad we attended! And Mary and I got to help out a little, too.

We met some awesome people and are looking forward to another trip that way in October.

The most current event is happening this Saturday. Mary and I will be attending a Baby Expo at Ft. Stewart in Hinesville, Geogia as vendors! My first vendor event and I think it’s going to be fantastic!

If you’re local and have not heard about it, you can check out this Facebook Page or my Facebook Page. My Facebook page will have info on what I will be having at the event.

I hope you’ll follow along with my oily adventures!!

Thanks for stopping by!
